You will be learning a new skill (self-regulation). It is important to remember that adequate time is needed for the necessary physiological changes to occur. At first, you will discover a gradual increased awareness of your ability to create feelings of deep relaxation. After several sessions, you may be able to control the dysfunctional reactions to stress that have had many years to develop. With control, comes the abilty to affect your symptoms and/or pain. |
