How Can Biofeedback Help Me?

Is Biofeedback Safe?

What Can I Expect?

Biofeedback includes a number of interventions that alter some activity of your body without medication. Clinical Biofeedback is a treatment technique in which you learn to try to improve your health, or influence your pain by using signals from your own body.

This is accomplished by utilizing sensitive electronic instruments which can detect and measure very small changes in the body such as muscle tension, skin temperature, respiration, heart rate, blood pressure, sweat gland activity and your own EEG (brain waves). The biofeedback instruments provide immediate visual and audiotory feedback (information) about the changes that occur in your body. Based upon this information, change, symptom reduction and an increase in quality of life is possible.

The self-regulatory skills learned by utilizing biofeedback can help you to regain control of your body processes. You will learn how to use your mind to enhance immune system functioning. This helps restore good health, reduce symptoms and prevent some future illness.
