What is Biofeedback?

Biofeedback is completely safe, certainly safer for influencing pain than a dependence on medication. No person has ever been harmed by biofeedback because it is an educational process. The sensors used simply stick to the surface of the skin, and there is no danger of electric shock.

One common biofeedback method picks up small electrical signals in the muscles. These signals are converted into a visual display such as computer graphics, meters or small lights. There is also an audible feedback tone. The biofeedback trainee learns how to control his/her muscle tension by influencing the visual and auditory feedback.
